LEAN IN THE OFFICE

What is Lean? Find out at this month's meeting, along with its benefits to an organization, and the basic steps for implementing a Lean in an Office (non-Manufacturing) environment.

ABOUT DAVID FASTENOW

Dave received his BA in Mathematics in 1972 and MS in Computer Science in 1973 from the University of Iowa. From there he went into the US Air Force as a computer science instructor. While serving in the Air Force, he earned his Master Instructor certification. Dave left the military in 1976 and joined Rockwell Collins, which is a large avionics company, where he worked for 30 years, retiring in 2006. While at Rockwell Collins, Dave was active in computer business systems development, as well as various management positions in Business Systems, Manufacturing, Program Management, Business Development, Marketing, and Service Operations. He was a key implementer of Lean Manufacturing and Lean Office processes at Rockwell Collins, initiatives that have contributed millions of dollars yearly to Rockwell's bottom line.

Upon retiring, Dave and his wife, Jackie Jo, moved to Hot Springs. They live on Lake Hamilton in a house he designed and built (as the General Contractor). They have both been active with the American Red Cross, the Garland County Historical Society, and Oaklawn United Methodist Church.

They have 2 sons, one living in Iowa, and the other in New York City (as a struggling musician and entrepreneur).

Walk Up Policy Reminder
We welcome people to come to our programs even if they did not make a reservation. We know people have changes to their schedules and may have to miss a meeting for which they signed up. We will observe the following time-line for meetings:

08:00 - Breakfast is served.

08:30 - Official start of the meeting. Your name tag will be printed. We will have as many name tags as we have seats. Come get your name tag when you arrive.

08:45 - Open seating begins. If you are present and seats are available, they will be given out. A reservation not used by 08:45 becomes an open seat.
