Strategies for Building a Skilled Workforce: This session will explore practical, in-house strategies for cultivating employees' skills and expertise without disrupting workflow. We will cover mentorship, cross-training, microlearning, and the use of apprenticeship plans to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Jenny Sales is an Employer Engagement Manager at Apprenticely with 25 years of experience in workforce development, recruiting, and coaching, focused on strengthening talent pipelines across Arkansas. A seasoned HR professional and former Senior Recruiter, she brings deep expertise in talent acquisition, compliance, and employer partnerships across industries, including manufacturing, aviation, and maintenance. A passionate advocate for apprenticeships—having completed one herself as an HR Specialist apprentice—Jenny leads employer outreach for Arkansas’s Registered Apprenticeship programs, helping businesses address workforce shortages and build talent in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, computer science, and healthcare. Her career includes leading full-cycle recruitment, managing multi-state HR operations, earning Hall of Fame recognition as a Branch Manager for Staffmark, and actively coaching job seekers while serving on multiple workforce advisory boards. Driven by a commitment to empowering individuals, especially women entering nontraditional careers, Jenny is dedicated to fostering strong, collaborative relationships between employers and a skilled, resilient workforce.

Our dues are free for SHRM members who primary designate their SHRM membership with our chapter, $30 for SHRM members designated to another chapter, or $45/annually. Our members consist of HR professionals, small business owners, office managers, payroll clerks, benefit coordinators, and others interested in the Human Resource function. WCASHRM offers certification and college scholarships, legislative updates, a monthly newsletter, free virtual meetings, free online job ad posting, and more to our members.
