Learning Objectives: Learn what is happening globally, nationally and in our community.  Recognize signs of human trafficking. Learn to identify and support vulnerable populations. Learn educational opportunities and resources for prevention. 
This presentation is designed to shed light on the horrific act of human trafficking/modern day slavery. There are more people enslaved today than any time in history. It is a highly profitable low risk business that most would rather not know about. Our children are more vulnerable than ever. Individuals will be encouraged to join the movement to take action with their skills and qualifications to make a difference and END slavery!

Shawnee Cooper began her Rotary life in 2015. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Saline County After-Hours that she helped chartered with husband Dennis in December 2021 in district 6170. She has served as Club President, District Conference Chair, District Grants Chair and Assistant Governor. She is an Ambassador for Arkansas for the Rotary Action Group Against Slavery (RAGAS). Shawnee was awarded Rotarian of the Year 2022-2023 for her work on combating human trafficking. Dennis & Shawnee are Major Donors, Bequest Society Members and Paul Harris Society Members. They are proud grandparents to 12 precious children; the reason Shawnee is adamant about bringing awareness and prevention to the horrific act of trafficking humans.

Giving For A Cause

Donate to our quarterly “Giving for a Cause.”  This quarter's Giving for the Cause, we are raising monies for the Ouachita Children's Center to use  on Spring Break activities. OCC schedules field trips daily during the break for the kids at the facility.
