READING BASIC BODY LANGUAGE WITH ILIANA SUTTON

Attendees will gain information on reading basic body language, as well as establish what is normal behavior for a person and to recognize body language that is not normal for the person. Human Resource professional process interviews for new hires and investigations and also help with de-escalations. Reading body language is a great tool to help with determining what is normal behavior for the person they are talking with.
In 1990, Ms. Sutton initiated a community-based program that provided economical after–school Spanish language classes for Springdale, Huntsville, and Fayetteville school districts. In 2000, she developed and supervised an interpreter program for the Springdale School district using high school senior students. In 2001, as the need for bilingual office staff grew in the community, Iliana Sutton developed a computer workplace training course for female minorities. Mrs. Sutton's career as language coordinator at Washington Regional Medical Center began in the summer of 1996. She designed, developed, and implemented Washington Regional's Language Department, where she hired, audited policies, established policies supervised language services programs, and interpreter services to improve communication barriers between Washington Regional patients and healthcare providers. Her work as a language coordinator has been featured in the 2009 edition of Physician’s Journal. As an exemplary community volunteer, she was awarded the Wal-Mart 2010 Heroes de Corazon award. In 2019 Mrs. Sutton designed the first Bilingual Government Apprenticeship program and made it free for those who qualified through the WIOA program, and Arkansas Veterans Affairs She presently serves on the board of the International Medical Interpreters Association She is the Founder and owner of Aha! Interpreting Solutions. An Education provider as well as Arkansas's only Professional Language service expert. Her company specializes in Educational workshop development in all areas of businesses, as well as provides customized employment language assessments as part of hiring compliancy.
